This website and the products sold through it are published under the name Warren Astley, which is a pen name. We sell digital books. Nothing is shipped. There is no physical product, no subscription and no recurring charge. You pay once, and you receive the files.
The current package is The Gentle Patriarch together with four companion volumes: The House on Elliot Road, The Leadership Checklist, The 7-Day Reset and The Evening Sequence. A further volume, The Long Game, is offered separately at the checkout as an optional addition to your order.
Prices are shown in US dollars and are the full price payable. Depending on where you live, sales tax, VAT or GST may be added at the checkout and will be shown before you pay.
Payment is handled by our payment providers. We do not see, store or process your card details.
Access is granted automatically once payment is confirmed, normally within a few minutes. The download links appear on the page you see right after payment, and the same links are sent by email to the address you bought with. Every file can be downloaded in PDF and EPUB. No account or password is needed. If you add The Long Game, its download link arrives in a separate email.
If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder first, then write to support@thegentlepatriarch.com from the address you used to buy. We will get you your files.
You are responsible for giving a working email address. We cannot deliver to an address that does not exist.
Your download links stay active for as long as this project is being run. It is not a subscription, there is nothing to renew, and we do not charge you again to keep it.
But no website is forever, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. If this project is ever wound down, sold, or moved to another owner, and the download links are going to stop working, we will email everyone who has bought at the address they bought with, and the files will stay downloadable for at least thirty days from that email before anything closes.
What you have already downloaded is yours to keep, permanently and in any case. We recommend saving the files to your own computer the day you buy them rather than relying on the download links — that is true of any digital purchase, from anyone.
We may transfer this business, or any part of it, to another person or company — by sale, merger, restructuring, or any similar arrangement. If that happens, your purchase and these terms transfer with it, and whoever takes it on steps into our place. Your access, your license and your refund rights are unaffected.
Personal data transfers only on the terms set out in our Privacy Policy, which binds any successor.
Your side of this agreement is personal to you and cannot be transferred to someone else. See Your license to use the books.
When you buy, you get a personal, non-transferable license to read the files and to print a copy for your own use. That is all it covers.
You may not resell, share, upload, republish, translate or distribute the files, in whole or in part, or make them available to anyone else, including on file-sharing sites, in groups, or as part of another product. See the Copyright Notice.
There is a 30-day refund, on request, with no questions asked and nothing to send back. The Refund Policy sets out exactly how to ask.
