Refund Policy

Thirty days. Full refund. No reason required, no form, and nothing to send back.

How to ask. Send one email to refunds.nospam@thegentlepatriarch.com from the address you used to buy, and include:

the name you used at checkout;
the order confirmation email you received from us (or your PayPal receipt, if you paid with PayPal) — forward it, or just tell us the date you bought; and
the word refund somewhere in the message.

That is the whole process. It exists so we can match your request to an actual order — you do not have to give a reason, and you will not be asked for one.

What happens next

We reply to confirm, normally within two business days.
The refund is issued to the original payment method.
Your bank or card issuer then takes its own time, usually between five and ten business days.
You keep every file. We do not revoke access after a refund and we do not ask you to delete anything. (If the project itself were ever wound down, everyone gets the thirty days' notice set out in the Terms & Conditions — that is not something we do to refunders in particular.)

The window

Thirty days from the date of purchase. If day thirty falls on a weekend or a holiday, write on the next working day and we will honour it.

Why it works this way

These are digital books, so the refund cannot be conditional on returning them. It is also deliberate. The only proof this project offers is the material itself, which means you have to be able to read all of it and change your mind. A refund you have to argue for is not a refund.

The one thing we will act on

Asking for a refund is fine and always will be. Redistributing the files is a separate matter and is dealt with under the Copyright Notice, whether or not you were refunded.

Chargebacks

If something has gone wrong, please write to us first. A refund by email is faster than a chargeback and costs you nothing. We have never refused a request inside the window.
