Short version: you only ever hear from us because you asked to, and you can stop it in one click.
Two ways, and only two. You gave us your address to receive something we offered, or you bought something from us. We do not buy lists, we do not scrape addresses, and we do not add people who were on somebody else's list.
Those two are kept as separate lists, because they are two different relationships. Someone who took a free test is not a customer, and we do not treat them as one.
Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click, no login, no survey, no "are you sure". It takes effect immediately and we do not put you back.
If the link ever fails, reply to the email with the word stop and we will do it by hand.
Email about this project and its books — and, if you bought from us or told us during a campaign what you were interested in, about material of ours that relates to it: an update or an extension of a book you already have, a further book on the same subject, an audio edition, a printed edition, or another product that belongs to the same problem.
It is always our own material. We do not mail other people's offers to you, and we do not pass your address to anyone who would. Your name and address are used by us, under our Privacy Policy, and by nobody else.
You can leave at any time from the one-click link at the bottom of any email, or by writing to us and asking to be removed. It takes effect immediately, you never have to say why, and it does not touch your access to anything you have already bought or your right to a refund inside the thirty days.
Unsubscribing stops the marketing email. It does not stop the messages you need in order to use what you bought: your receipt, your access link, and replies to your own questions. Those are not marketing and there is nothing to opt out of.
We follow the rules that apply where our readers are, including the CAN-SPAM Act in the United States, CASL in Canada, the Spam Act in Australia and the GDPR and ePrivacy rules in Europe. Where those differ, we apply the strictest.
Canada, specifically. Under CASL, buying from us gives us your consent to write to you for twenty-four months from that purchase. After those twenty-four months we write only to people who have told us explicitly that they want us to. We keep a record of when and where each consent was given, which CASL requires of the sender, not of you.
